RC Crawlers: Conquer Any Terrain
Shop RC crawlers from Axial, Traxxas, FMS and more, from 1/30 micro crawlers to 1/6 scale giants, plus trail trucks, rock racers and crawler kits, in stock at RC Car World.
Micro Crawlers — 1/30 Scale
The smallest and most affordable way in. About 6 inches long, they climb a stack of books or a garden rock pile and go back in a drawer. Everything is in the box. A perfect first crawler or gift.
Mini Crawlers — 1/24 Scale
The most popular size for indoor courses and backyard trails. Under 8 inches long, with licensed bodies from Jeep, Chevy, Ford, and Land Rover, and a huge world of upgrade parts. Small enough for the living room, tough enough for the yard.
Mini Crawlers — 1/18 Scale
A step up in size and capability, about 11 inches long. Big enough for real outdoor trails and rocks, still small enough to carry in one hand. The sweet spot if you want to crawl both indoors and out.
FMS Scale Trucks — 1/12 Scale
Museum-grade detail in a mid-size package, about 13 inches long. Working lights, real-looking interiors, and body styles you will not find from other brands. For the driver who cares as much about how it looks parked as how it climbs.
Trail Trucks & Rock Crawlers — 1/10 Scale
The standard size of the hobby, about 20 inches long. Real suspension, locked axles, and slow, controlled power that walks up rocks, logs, and creek beds. This is what the crawling community drives, and what most upgrade parts are made for.
Rock Racers & Trail Buggies — 1/10 Scale
Crawlers with a wild side. A roll cage instead of a truck body, and enough power to climb slowly or blast across open ground. For drivers who want to crawl the hard line and then race back to the truck.
Crawler Kits — 1/10 Scale
A box of parts, not a finished truck. You build it, paint the body, and pick your own electronics. It takes longer to hit the trail, but you will know every bolt, and the truck is exactly the way you want it.
Big Crawlers — 1/8 & 1/6 Scale
Nearly three feet long and built like the real thing. They crawl over obstacles the smaller trucks drive around, and they turn heads at every trail meet. For experienced crawlers with room to store and haul them.
How to Choose an RC Crawler
RC crawlers are the opposite of fast. They creep over rocks, roots, and stairs with real-truck detail, and the fun is in the climb, not the speed. Every crawler we carry belongs to one of the groups below. Pick the size that fits where you will drive, then the truck you love the look of.
Which Brand?
Axial is the most popular crawler brand, with the most realistic looks, the widest range of sizes from 1/30 to 1/6, and the deepest catalog of upgrade parts. Traxxas costs more but comes packed with features like high and low gearing and remote-locking differentials, and Traxxas support is second to none. FMS gives you unusual body styles and scale detail at friendly prices. Also worth a look: Element RC, Losi, GMade, Cross RC, Redcat, and Carisma. For the very top of the craft, see RC4WD.
Buying RC Crawlers at RC Car World
Every group of RC crawlers above is stocked at RC Car World, from $100 micro trucks to three-foot 1/6 scale rigs. If you are not sure which size fits, start with where you will drive: indoors and small yards suit 1/24 and 1/18, while trails, rocks, and creek beds suit 1/10 and up.
What to Upgrade First on a Crawler
Crawler drivers upgrade in a predictable order: softer, stickier tires, then a stronger steering servo, then weight low on the axles to keep the truck planted on steep climbs. Our RC upgrades guide walks through each step, and we stock crawler tires and wheels for every scale.
Batteries for RC Crawlers
Most 1/10 RC crawlers run on a 2S or 3S LiPo, and the minis use small packs with their own plugs. Check the connector before you buy. Our RC batteries guide explains cell count, run time, and plugs in plain words.
