RC Car World has confirmed it will have the all-new Traxxas Mini Rally VXL Ford RS200 in stock and ready for purchase on Thursday, October 31st.
This isn’t just another car release; it’s a Halloween treat for RC enthusiasts and automotive history buffs alike. The new Traxxas model (108046-1) is a 1/16 scale monster that combines the iconic, aggressive styling of a rally legend with the blistering, over-the-top power that only Traxxas can deliver.
A Nod to Rally’s Most Dangerous Era
To understand why this RC car is so special, you have to look back at the legend it honors. The original Ford RS200 was a mid-engine, all-wheel-drive beast built to compete in the 1980s Group B rally series—arguably the fastest, most powerful, and most dangerous era of motorsport ever. The Traxxas replica captures this spirit perfectly, from its aggressive quad-headlight fascia and functional LED light pods to its classic rally-white wheels and distinctive roof-mounted air intake.
But this model is far more than a static shelf-queen. Traxxas has engineered it to perform with a ferocity that would make its Group B inspiration proud.
1/10 Scale Power in a 1/16 Scale Package
The “Mini” in its name is deceptive. The heart of this 1/16 scale car is a 1/10 scale power system. Traxxas has equipped the Mini Rally VXL with the formidable Velineon® VXL-3s™ waterproof electronic speed control and the Velineon 3500 Kv brushless motor. This is the same high-output system found in their full-size 1/10 scale models like the Slash VXL.
The result is truly astonishing speed. Right out of the box, with the included 3500mAh 2-cell (2S) iD LiPo battery, the Mini Rally VXL can shred pavement and gravel at over 40 mph. For those who crave extreme performance, the system is fully 3S LiPo compatible. Dropping in an optional 3S LiPo battery (sold separately) unlocks the chassis’s full potential, launching the lightweight car to staggering speeds of 55+ mph.
A Chassis Built for Battle
That incredible power is harnessed by a new, modular long-wheelbase chassis (262mm) designed for high-speed stability. The rally car features a robust, 1/10 scale shaft-driven all-wheel-drive system. Unlike less advanced models, this one includes sealed, steel-gear planetary differentials in the front and rear, as well as a sealed center differential. This pro-level setup allows the car to distribute power effectively for incredible grip on loose surfaces or tire-smoking drifts on tarmac.
To handle the abuse, the car also features a 1/10 scale 2075X waterproof, high-torque, metal-gear servo for crisp steering response, and full-size oil-filled Ultra Shocks™ to soak up jumps and rough terrain.
Ready for Action on October 31st
The Traxxas Mini Rally VXL Ford RS200 arrives as a complete Ready-To-Race® (RTR) package. Inside the box, customers will find the fully assembled car, the TQi™ 2.4 GHz radio system with Traxxas Stability Management (TSM)®, the 2-cell iD LiPo battery, and a 2-amp USB-C iD balance charger.
