What Makes a Limited Edition RC10 Actually Special

RC10 Jay Halsey Edition

What makes it special: this is a recreation of the buggy Jay Halsey drove to win the 1985 IFMAR 2WD World Championship. The gold-anodized T6 aluminum tub chassis is factory-etched with his signature, and the kit reproduces the JG front bumper, the 3-piece wheels, and the 3-piece IFMAR wing from the original car. It runs the legendary 6-gear transmission, a Vari-Lok differential, and gold oil-filled shocks.

What is in the box: the unassembled kit and a printed instruction manual. That is it.

What you still need: a motor, an electronic speed control, a steering servo, a 2-channel radio system (transmitter and receiver), a 2S LiPo battery and a compatible charger, polycarbonate paint for the body, and tools for assembly. This is a build-it-yourself kit, not a ready-to-run car.

Compatibility: designed to run on modern 2S LiPo or 6-cell NiMH batteries. Your choice, both are supported.

• Radio: Tactic TTX300 3-channel with receiver. Two channels are all this car uses, the third is a spare.
• Battery: Lectron Pro 2S 5200mAh 35C hard case with XT60. Standard hard-case size for the RC10 battery slot.

RC10B6.4CC Collector’s Clear Edition

What makes it special: the entire kit is molded in clear polycarbonate. Chassis, wheels, and body are all built from the same see-through material. It is based on the modern RC10B6.4 racing platform: a laydown 3-gear transmission, 13mm big-bore threaded aluminum shocks, a natural silver +3mm aluminum chassis with 22.5-degree kick-up, an adjustable steering bellcrank and rack, and a -1mm kingpin offset steering and caster block set. The cab-forward B6.4 body is included in both standard and lightweight thicknesses.

Important: Team Associated has said the clear components in this kit are exclusive to it and will not be sold separately. It is durable enough to drive, but it is built primarily as a collector’s showcase piece. Treat it that way if you want to keep it complete.

What is in the box: the buggy kit itself. The listing does not specify an included instruction manual the way the Jay Halsey kit does, so we are not claiming one here. If that matters to you, ask us before you buy.

What you still need: a display stand if you want to show it off, tools for assembly, and polycarbonate paint if you choose to color any of it.
